Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Really friendly place, good lighting in late morning. Fun menu - I simply has the breakfast sandwich (bagel) as locals recommended to me. Added bacon to make it true. Really amazing stuff, so much so that I posted a pic of my sandwich. The bagel itself was quite good in itself. Locals seem to really like this place, as well as passers thru - one CB visitor I met couldn't remember the name, but wanted to send me there so much that he went to find out and delivered the name to me later in the day. My experience is based on being in there with mostly just myself, but a few locals too.

Oh Izzys. I'm not doing you justice by not having a picture to post. I was up in Crested Butte for a friend's wedding a couple of weeks ago. We almost gave up on coming here due to Google Maps giving curious directions. You can park on Elk Ave or go back a block north and park on Maroon Ave. The restaurant itself is on the north side of the alley that runs parallel to Elk and Maroon. There are limited tables inside and outside. Order at the counter and they'll bring you the food. I had the potato latke with bacon, scrambled eggs, pepperjack cheese, and avacado. The price itself is higher than the chain restaurants but this is a local business and they're great at what they do. The latke is good and tasty. The bacon though was thick cut and they got it to that state where it's crispy but also tender but not fatty. If you love bacon you totally know what I mean!

The three stars is due only to how long it took to get to delicious food. We arrived on Labor Day morning at about 745 to get "to go" for 4 people. We were second in line behind a party of 4 and it took (no joke) 45 minutes to get a couple of wraps, a sandwich and a breakfast item. We were all sorts of hungry and agitated waiting for our food (my mantra - mountain town, mountain town, mountain town). The place is very small and gets really crowded fast. By the time we left, the line was 5 deep... The. Food. Was. Delicious. No. Really. Delicious. The latkes that are on virtually every menu items are delicious. The bagels are fresh baked and reportedly (my daughter) quite good as well. But eat a latke. In whatever form. Then thank me.

Izzys is a great little breakfast/brunch spot in Crested Butte! My friends and I were a little surprised when we arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday and there was a 30 minute wait for a simple bagel sandwich, but we were glad we stuck around because the food was great. I ordered the classic bagel sandwich, which had eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. The bagel was one of the best I've had in awhile and all the ingredients were fresh. The owner was very friendly also! I do recommend arriving early in the morning to this place because they were out of many items when we arrived. There was a limited selection of bagels, no latkes, and no toast, so if you want to be able to choose from the whole menu, don't show up later in the morning!

Could have scored a 3, but it would be easy for them to earn a 5. My latke with eggs and ham was delicious and filling. The coffee was so-so, and in CB one can get outstanding coffee (Camp 4 You, Rumours, First Ascent). The service came up a tad short which is the reason for a 4. It was mediocre enough that they could have earned a 3, except that I think the person who forgot my request about wifi, and my request for cream, was in training. She was working at just 1/3 speed, I was just fortunate to get there early before the crowds. But to repeat, the latkes are excellent. Food is pricy, but that's CB. There are not a lot of breakfast options in town.

Izzy's was recommended by a few folks in town so we tried it for brunch and were blown away with the friendly service. So much to choose from and they were so patient with us. Once I finally decided the type of breakfast sandwich i wanted (the Scotty - sausage, egg, potato cake, cheese) then I had to decide on what bagel I wanted - decisions decision s! Instead of just listing what they had the owner let me come back in the back and select my bagel (the cheddar jalapeño)... Once I did he handed me that delicious cheese that had burnt off the edge... Mmm! The bagel sandwich was HUGE and delicious! My husband had a 'small' pancake - yeah right, it was huge! We both saved half of our meals for lunch later on. I would absolutely return next time we are in town.

Eager to see what all the fuss was about, we got up early (not hard when you're still on CT) and made a beeline for Izzy's. Prepared for a decent wait and/or a line, we were pleasantly surprised to pull up and walk straight to the counter. If there's lox on a menu, I'm ordering it - except apparently on this day, since they were out... at 8am on a Sunday [insert huge sigh] So on to Plan B - the latke with egg and ham. We found seating for our party of 4 easily enough, and a few folks started trickling in the door ordering to-go or taking the place of some of the parties that were finishing up. But at no point would I consider there to have been a tidal wave of patrons. I awkwardly navigated the coffee situation (psst, creamer/milk is in the refrigerator along with the single-serving "for sale" bottles), and then the waiting started. Luckily for my husband, who can get irreparably hangry, our two meals came out first. And thankfully, we have friends who encourage starting before all meals arrive, otherwise everything would have been ice cold by the time theirs came out. My husband and I were virtually finished when the other two dishes came out. Not unforgivable, but awkward. Overall, the food was quite good, but it wasn't anything life-changing. The portions were hearty, and the flavors were great, so no complaints there. Izzy's strikes me as a spot where if you hit it just right, you'd have a great experience. But if the stars don't align for you, it may not be so notable.

The good: bagels are real bagels, the latkes are delicious, the sandwiches are reasonably priced, the menu has a decent number of vegetarian options, the staff is friendly. The bad: the wait. Izzy's runs on mountain time (the high altitude equivalent of island time). And honestly, if you're on vacation, sitting on Izzy's back patio in the sun with the river rushing by and the dogs hanging out isn't a bad place to wait 30, 40, 50 minutes for your breakfast. But you will wait - last time I was there, there was no one in front of me in line, and yet I still waited 48 minutes for and egg and cheese bagel. PS - I've seen the other reviews say locals get faster service, but everybody waits. My friend who has lived her whole life in Crested Butte and who is friends with the owner finally stopped going, after her last bagel sandwich to go took an hour.

What a great hole in the wall out of the way place. We went to Izzy on our last day on the mountain as we were headed back to Denver. It had been snowing, snowing and snowing and decided we might ought to eat a good breakfast. A great breakfast find!!! The day before when we ate at Tamale location, they had sign posted on their door...Power Day. Whenever they get POWDER, the businesses may be closed. Fortunately Izzy was open but was closing later in the a.m. HUGE pancakes, crepes, eggs to perfection, waffles and delicious coffee. Super Friendly SMALL but quaint....Laid back vibe...but hey you are in a ski town.

Wow, Yelp. Never have I experienced such an epic FAIL. I trust you yelpers to send me to good places. What the hell? This is probably the worst restaurant experience in my memory. Yes, I read that this place often has a wait, but it was practically empty when I walked in at 11am on a Thursday, so I didn't think to ask how long my food would take. 35 minutes. For soft steamed eggs on a latke. Ridiculous. As I waited I consoled myself with the thought that the food would be Amazing, especially since I was starving. FALSE. I mean, I spent $12 for these 2 eggs and latke. My mind should be blown right now. Instead, I can't even finish it (and that's not because the servings are too big). They don't put the prices on the menu, probably because people would turn and walk out. And finally, the employees are not outright rude, but I wouldn't call them friendly either. I really cannot fathom how this place has 4 1/2 stars. I wish I hadn't come here.

This is more than a solid breakfast place. And coming from Telluride which had a dearth of good breakfast places we were thrilled. Honestly why do people go to Telluride when you can go to CB? Latkes are tasty and different from what you may know in the polish cafes on the east coast. These are thin and more crispy but still really good. The breakfast sandwiches with egg/mayo/mustard/cheese on their homemade bagel of your choice are proper! Chow down before you grab your bike and head for the hills. The staff and chef are incredibly friendly and helpful. Enjoy a seat out or in-- this is a favorite so think about calling in your take out order too if that's more your speed. I'd eat anything at Izzys!

10 stars would be more like it.... Food is made and served fresh.... The atmosphere is so family oriented. Definitely recommend getting to know the owner and Lizzie who will go out of there way to make sure you are satisfied with there food and service!!! YOU WILL BE!!!! Can't wait to become a vacation home owner so we can enjoy this great establishment more. Thank you guys!

The Latkes are.... how do i say. AMAZING!! The Mexicalli beans have enormous flavor, a hint of smoke, a slight sweetness from the corn and carrots. The eggs cooked to perfection. But if you come with 4 or more FORCE someone to get a pancake it is the size of a medium pizza!! Being from Dallas we have a lot of great restaurants and i rarely write about one but this exceeded our expectations.

I had honestly the best omelet in my life at Izzy's! That's coming from a guy who makes and consumes an omelet every other day. I did the build your own omelet and what I received was undoubtedly greater than the sum of its parts. It was massive, had huge chunks of turkey which if purchased at a deli would have been more than what I paid for the omelet itself, feta, and spinach. My girlfriends Greek scramble which included latkes on the side were also extraordinary and more than either of us could finish. The interior is cute and cozy and a true mountain town establishment. Our only qualm, which really is a testament to how personable the employees are, was that our food took forever. The joint wasn't too busy either. The issue was that every time a regular, and they all seemed to be regulars, came in, the owner/chef and half the staff would come out and bs with them. Okay...bs may not be the best term. They showed invested interest and excitement to see each regular come in and would get caught up in conversation. Progress picked up when they finally decided to have regulars come back into the kitchen so they could carry conversation while also continuing with orders.

We visited Izzys on a Sunday morning when they happened to be totally slammed but still maintained amazing customer service, amazing food, stellar coffee and total friendliness. We sat outside eating latkes by the river and it felt like we stumbled on treasure in being there. A gem of a restaurant!

My wife and I stumbled in here on a Monday morning. There was a sign outside that we missed that stated that they were only open for to go sandwiches on Monday and Tuesday. The chef came out and apologized for the confusion and that we didn't understand and offered to cook us anything on the menu. I thought this was very cool of him. We both ordered bagel sandwiches. I had the bacon egg and cheese on the everything bagel. It was tasty and the perfect size for a pre-bike ride breakfast. I much more enjoyed my wife's who had a bagel with cheese, egg and spinach. Props to the chef for taking care of us.

The food is great, but be prepared to wait. They are going at their own speed here, so if you are in a hurry, you might want to try somewhere else. What others said about locals coming in is true, but that didn't bother us. Also, portions are fairly large, so I would recommend sharing.

Wow! What an experience! Very generous portions, friendly staff, great food! Guys, beware of the plate sized pancakes...only 3 people have ever finished them...I wasn't one! Eat breakfast here!

Delicious! Worth the wait, and all it's quirks. With the long wait (ours was accurately quoted at 35 minutes) on food, they close at 1pm, so if you're planning on having Izzy's arrive as early as possible! They did run out of the famed pancakes by the time we arrived (12:30, so it's understandable), but the sandwiches, bagels, and latkes were still amazing! Friendly staff, and a really "cute" decor, but the best thing by far was the quality of food!

This place was recommended by another restaurant as a quick place to get something to go. The first thing we told the gal behind the counter was exactly that....that we were looking for something quick. We ordered a bagel sandwich and a breakfast burrito -- items that should be relatively quick, right? 30 minutes later I had to ask them where the food was. In that 30 minutes, 3-4 locals came in, chatted it up with the cooks and cashier, got their food and were eating. We, as non-locals were completely ignored. I listened as the cooks and cashier casually discussed many topics as parts of our order sat on the prep table for quite a long time. At no point did they ever seem concerned or have a clue that I was standing by waiting eagerly for my food. When I got the food, there was no apology for the long wait, no thank-you for coming. Nothing. As far as the food, the bagel breakfast sandwich was good. Kind of hard to mess that up. The burrito weighed as much as a small dog and the colorless, odd-tasting mess that was inside the tortilla tasted and looked like what comes out of the back side of said small dog. I wouldn't even give one star if I had a choice. Bad experience....unless you're a local. Visitors beware!

Really great, fresh food. We had latkes, crepes, and French toast in our party and everything was very well done. The place is tiny so seating is limited but they let us place our order then walk around town for 15 mins while it cooked and a table was waiting when we returned. Not good for large parties, but excellent if you are looking for quality food from a friendly place.

3 stars because it looks and smells good, but the place was confusing and disorganized when we went, so we ended up not eating there. There was a 'busy' sign on the door telling me to go next door, but not very clear that we couldn't go in the main building. Once we went next door the last seemed aggravated that we didn't want just soup, and the guy next door told us we could order off his menu. Ultimately it was easier to just find a different place to eat. We will give it a try when they are organized and ready for business.

Let's start out by saying this was our first visit and it seems to have been an unusual day. We arrive about 30 minutes after izzy's opened and they already has a 35 minute wait for food. There was some type of bike event going on and they were slammed early. The girl at the counter was great and even after she advised us of the wait time we agreed to hang out. Most of the food was good. The latkes were amazing. The Mexicali wrap was also fabulous. They were out if cornmeal pancakes and blueberries. I had the buttermilk pancake and it was good, light, yet thick. The only downside was the fake syrup. Pure maple, or don't even offer pancakes! Coffee was adequate, but not great. If you find yourself on crested butte, this is definitely worth the visit. It's a local institution!

This place gets a solid 5 stars even though they stole my name. Latkes- amazing (if you're feeling it, get a half portion, it's still huge). Homemade bagels- soft, fluffy and perfect. A fun little place with great food. CB is lucky to have you!

Izzy's is a great little shop for breakfast. All of there food is well prepared and delicious. They have fresh baked bagels of all different kinds and the most popular is the sourdough bagel. A lot of there dishes are made withe a latke (which is a Jewish food which is a hash brown baked in the oven) which is to die for. I recommend this place because the have something that is hard to find these days, AMAZING service. The are probably one of the nicest place to go to. They care about there customers quite a bit. My dad got the pancake there and it was a lot bigger than we thought and it was thick( the pancake was delicious by the way) my dad couldn't eat all of it by himself and we were full from our meals but when we went to pay since my dad didn't finish they guy who was running around only charged him for a kids pancake. This shows major customer loyalty and I could not have been more pleased with this little shop.

Great spot for foodage! Always gotta hit the local spots. The wait for food was a bit long; just me the wait is worth it. Get there before you hit the slopes, trails, shopping, or before head to work.

We came to Crested Butte on our Honeymoon and Izzys made our trip even more amazing! The Greek, phenomenal, The Kellen wrap, out of this world and even better because it was created in honor of a friend who died in an avalanche. They made us a honeymoon platter with the pumpkin butterscotch cookies that have now become my favorite cookie in the world and topped it off with whip cream. The service was amazing, we became friends with the owner through the kitchen window and will make Izzys our breakfast destination in Crested Butte from this day forward!

The food is awesome! I ordered a breakfast wrap and it looked like a 10 pound burrito. I ate 2/3 of the wrap and save the rest for 3 hours later (trip back to Denver). The photos on the wall are amazing and truly inspiring. This place would've received 5 stars but it was on the pricey side for breakfast and it took them nearly 45 minutes to make a bagel, French toast and breakfast wrap... and it was a to go order!

Visited Crested Butte for Spring break from Mesa,AZ. Ate at Izzys on a saturday morning. They were busy but food time was perfect for my brood of 5 kids. Fresh fruit cups were awesome with a wide variety of fruit. The pancakes were amazing. I can't say enough great things about the food and happy workers. The owner even came out and chatted with us! A must stop when you are in Crested Butte,CO

"Over-promised (by reputation) and under-delivered." I understand a wait at a breakfast spot on a Sunday, however, waiting while watching your half-made breakfast sandwich sit on the counter is a bit frustrating. We were estimated a 30 minute wait and at 53 minutes I tell you the sandwich did not bring fireworks. Too much onion, too much salt, and while the latke was really good, the bad weighed too strong. Sometimes hype is just hype, and in this case, pass.

Best Rueben Sandwich & Pastrami Sandwiches EVER!!!!! Scrumptious with the meat, cheese, etc. all mixed together!!! Super friendly & personable staff!

This place is simply fantastic. Let me start with the employees. They were super friendly, funny, and loved their job. This was a busy little restaurant, with just a handful of tables, and a long line, I knew this place had to be good. I ordered the breakfast latke with two sunny side eggs on top and melty, gooey, Provolone cheese. Don't tell my Jewish grandmother, but these were better than hers. The flavor and texture were SPOT on. I did something most people don't do. I also ordered a "Plate Sized Pancake", not thinking how big it actually was. It was massive. Two pounds, 1 inch thick. Have never seen a flapjack this big. It was divine. Fluffy inside, caramelized-ish outside, made for the best pancake I have ever had. If it wasn't 4 hours away from Denver, I would be here daily. Maybe a once a month trip?

Went for breakfast/lunch and had a latke Reuben. Ohmygoodness. SO good!! Has a very friendly "good morning" type vibe. Staff was nice, food was excellent. If you're in crested butte for the weekend this place is an absolute must.

It was my first time in Crested Butte. We came for brunch at Izzs follwing the Yelp's review. It didnt disappoint me. The food was so well made. We ordered the Green Egg and Ham. The egg was scrambled with so delicious Pesto sauce. The side of potato Latke was amazing. I forgot to take pic as I realized when I was almost done with the food. The portion was pretty big. Friendly atmosphere. You can order food then go walk around the cute town they can call you once the food is ready. It was different than a typical brunch place. Love it!

For the morning when you were careless the night before and you worry if your life will ever be the same. The dawn after, when you made a choice for a little bit of more pleasure instead of thinking prudently. The first light after an epic evening that leaves you concerned about your health and future. Izzys is your morning after pill. After a night of hitting up every place in town that would serve us anything with booze in it we were all kind of hurting. Red eyed and fuzzy we stumbled into Izzys having never been there before and as if they knew we couldn't make a decision to save our lives the lady at the counter directed us to the cure for what ailed our acing heads. As I was fairly, well extremely, hangover I have no idea what we got but it was essentially a latke, bacon and eggs in a tortilla. The perfect amount of grease and protean to bring me back to Earth. I was pretty sure I was going to have a wasted day in CB but after that I was ready to hit the trails and enjoy the best of what Colorado has to offer.

This review is for the little soup place which is an extension of Izzy's (just next door.) I LOVE soup in general. But it has t be really good soup. I was so very impressed with the Cream of Spinach soup I had here just a few minutes ago. Simply amazing. Yum. I will be in Crested Butte for two more days and will definitely go back for more soup both days The owner (I am assuming he was the owner) was super nice and very accommodating.

This place was highly recommended by locals, and when things are clicking along smoothly, Izzy's might be worth 5 stars. Unfortunately for us, we didn't even get to try the awesomely reviewed food. First, the ambience is smaller than small town diner, and that is kind of cool. Menu board in colored chalk (or whatever), with red items barely readable. Ok, powering past that, the mode of service is to walk to the counter and place your order. We did, but only after waiting what seemed like a pretty long time (glacial speed, actually) for the 5 people ahead of us to move along. Ahh...first real problem. Only one order taker/cashier, and she was constantly picking up the phone and taking phone orders, while trying to service customers actually in the joint. Behind us, I noticed, the line was pretty variable, as people came in, and in 5 minutes walked out, no doubt to another place to eat. So...my friends ordered to go, and at last I was next. Bam! Another humongous phone order. I pocketed my cash, and went out to wait with my friends (we were on a bit of a time crunch, and I didn't want to be the cause of a delay in hitting the road). We waited on the patio. And waited and waited. By this time, incoming customers were being told their order wouldn't be ready for an hour. Wow, really? I went to another place on Elk, got a pretty decent cinnamon roll to go. Back to Izzy's I went. Still no food. About 40 minutes after placing their order, my buddy went in to check. Order was never placed! Still sitting on the cashier's desk! Darn! My friends got refunded, and we split. Advice to Izzy's: it doesn't matter that Crested Butte has an awesome rep as a laid back and cool place, hire competent help, stop with the phone orders, get a loan and find a bigger space, with room for more than 2 hash slingers. And best of luck to you!

I stopped in to grab breakfast to go for my family. Clearly they were short staffed and did all they could to fill orders as fast as they could. The staff was wonderful, cheerful and very accommodating. The food was excellent!! Even my picky little boys wolfed down their breakfast tacos. The only reason not 5 stars is because it took almost 45 mins to get my food.

Had a croissant sandwich and my wife had a bowl of granola. Loved it! Definitely recommend it. Doesn't have much for a seating place and kind of tucked behind the post office but worth all the reviews!!

Not much space to sit and eat because people kept pouring in o this local favorite. Our lattes were excellent and our Latkes with eggs were fantastic! Don't miss this local passion.

  • Jonathan B.

A local recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. For such a small place, boasts a huge menu. One pancake is the size of a tall stack. I had a delicious bagel with lox. My wife had an outstanding latke with a Mexican flare. Everything was just delicious. My understanding is that seating can become scarce so go early, call ahead, or expect a wait. Also, our food came out very odd waves (4 dishes for 4 people served the course of about 10 minutes). Don't be alarmed, but be prepared. The food is worth it.

  • Mike H.

Izzy's has tasty food, but the rest of the operation is a junk show. If you want to enjoy the eats, here are some tips: Avoid weekends or peak times. After a 20+ minute wait in line, you'll be told once you're ready to order that there's another 20-30 minute wait for food. Call in your order. This is how the locals do it. While the tourists wait in line and then wait for food, locals call in orders - phone calls get priority over the line - and pop in to grab their food and have a seat. If you like dogs and kids, this is your place. If not, then your wait and mealtime might not be your thing. If you've got the time to kill and enjoy chaos, then stop here for some delicious and unusual breakfast items.

  • Andrea S.

Izzy's is a quirky establishment. The latke is a must at breakfast. The food is cooked to order, so it takes a while for the food to come out.

  • Bonnie H.

Had a great breakfast at Izzys yesterday. Heed other reviewers. Expect a long wait or call your order in ahead which is a little easier said than done because I was unable to find a menu online. I had the Greek omelette it was delicious. I would definitely go back.

  • Lindsay B.

Get there early and so worth it!!!!! Latkes for breakfast? Amazing. No frills dining, staff was funny and real. Must stop in the Butte!

  • Christy O.

The food is ok but wait times are ridiculous. You order at the counter and if there is any kind of line, know that you are an hour or more away from getting food (about 20 minutes to order and 45 or so for the food to come out, on the busy day we ate there during the July wildflower festival). The staff is friendly and hard-working, so I suspect the problem stems from a bagel-operation-sized kitchen where they're processing pancakes and latkes on a George Foreman grill or something. It's a tiny space that really seems more suited to a more modest menu. I feel like I traded an hour of my vacation, sitting in the sun at a sticky picnic table, for an overcooked latke. Izzys won't be high on the list of places to return to when I'm in Crested Butte again.

This place is good but they need HOT SAUCE. Having the packets of not good hot sauce is depressing. They have delicious breakfast and cookies. The cookies were warm and gooey. Yum!

Awesome. A Crested Butte classic for breakfast or lunch. Reasonably priced and friendly service. If you're really hungry, you've got to try one of the pancakes. Great coffee. The owner, Craig, provides great attention to detail. Only low note is to be prepared to wait awhile on busy days.

Be patient - enjoy the scene. Had a buttermilk pancake that was bigger than the plate... could have fed 4 people. coffee was great. My wife had a breakfast wrap that she could only eat half of. Carrot in the breakfast burrito? sure - why not...it was delicious!

Tastiest, coolest and most unique breakfasts in town. The owner is a great guy who loves to banter, chat and welcome locals and tourists alike. He's a great ambassador for Crested Butte. Their crepes, latkes, bagels and coffee drinks are all fantastic. Delicious housemate granola too.

I wouldn't eat here again. The French toast just tasted like egg yolks. Less good than nothing special. They were out of almost everything the day we went- so perhaps the latkes are amazing. I was underwhelmed and so disappointed after all of the near perfect reviews.

GREAT breakfast!! It takes a lot for me to review, so know that you are getting an excellent meal at a very fair price. Pros: 1. Delicious breakfast food. Haven't tried lunch yet, but I'm sure it's good. Everything is made fresh with attention to detail. We had the Mexicali Latke and the Good 'Ay Crepe. Plus a salt bagel. Coffee is roasted locally and delish. Good 'Ay Crepe was the highlight. 2. Super-friendly service. Counter help was attentive and nice. Owner is a great guy, very good conversationalist. Service clearly means a lot to him (and in a ski town, this is OFTEN a rarity). 3. Breakfast is served ALL DAY. If you are one of those people like my wife and me--who want to eat breakfast when we're ready for breakfast (be that noon, 1pm, or even 2)--then this is hardest thing to find in any mountain town. NO PLACE serves breakfast all day, every day. That is, no place except Izzy's. 4. Very affordable. A ski bum's wet dream. Cons: 1. Small. Small tables. Small chairs. Small bench. We are going again tomorrow and next week when we return to CB.

I forgot I had been here before until I walked in the door. Cute little place off the main drag. Stopped here for coffee and something to eat before making the long drive back to Denver. BF was going to get 2 bagels w/cream cheese until he saw someone eating a giant cream cheese icing covered cinnamon roll. Then he changed his order to one bagel and a cinnamon roll which he quickly devoured - but at least I got to have a few bites before it all disappeared. I only had a latte and a bagel for fear of going into food coma while driving over Cottonwood Pass. Everything on the menu looked sooo good though. I'll be back again next time.

Depending on what you order, izzys is a hit or miss. Some items are excellent like the grilled cheese and their Cole slaw. Others are so-so. The place is really small and can literally overflow into the street during peak lunch and breakfast times so make sure to get there in advance

The Basic, I think they call it... It's just a bagel fried egg, LTO mustard cheese... It'll take anything in the vibrant Philly brunch scene to task- and it's "the basic." Izzys is a must when in CB. You will wait, at times, but it has always been worth it.. And Wtf are you in such a hurry for? Hiking? Mountain Biking? Fishing? Skiing? All those activities are more overrated than breakfast.. and slow your roll anyway bro- you make us tourists look fat and lazy.. And by golly, we aren't... lazy.

Hubby, toddler and I had brunch at Izzys. We had finished snowshoeing and worked up an appetite. Cute little hippy joint. We were lucky to snag a table. I had the grilled pastrami (1/2 order) and Hubby and son shared the plate sized pancake. The pastrami was great. The pancake was incredible and INCREDIBLY huge. Hubby and son could only finish 1/3. We took the rest home. Great Crested Butt restaurant.

This place rocks! I won't reiterate the details as there are plenty of reviews that capture it. One great tip is to CALL IN YOUR ORDER IN ADVANCE FOR PICK UP! This is especially true if you're here in the summer or during ski season. "In season" (and esp on weekends) expect a line and a wait. Call in your order and give them time to get it done... then just stroll in, go to the front and politely tell the cashier that you already called it in (folks in line may wonder what you're think'n walking to the front, but Izzy's is set up for this, so don't sweat it). When you grab your order and get on your way, they'll drool in envy! ENJOY!!!

Had a late breakfast here on a very busy summer Sunday. Ordered french toast and bagel with cream cheese and was told it would be half an hour. Offered to take our cell phone number and call us when it was ready (we were eating in, not taking out). I guess since this is a small restaurant and a small downtown, some people just put in their order and wander around downtown until their order is ready. We sat at a table and waited. Order was ready in about 15-20 minutes. French toast super large portion and very good. Bagels are made at Izzy's (I believe) and the plain one I had gets about a B compared to the metaphysical ideal of a bagel embodied by H&H of NYC (hey, there has to be one bagel to rule them all) Next time I will try one of the house specialties like the giant pancake (the size of a manhole cover practically and would easily serve 3), or cinnamon raisin bagel french toast (my daughter wanted to get this but they were out on cinn-raisin bagels). Altogether a good breakfast choice.

Had a croissant sandwich and my wife had a bowl of granola. Loved it! Definitely recommend it. Doesn't have much for a seating place and kind of tucked behind the post office but worth all the reviews!!

Love it!

Izzy's is a quirky establishment. The latke is a must at breakfast. The food is cooked to order, so it takes a while for the food to come out.

Maybe a once a month trip?

Went for breakfast/lunch and had a latke Reuben. Ohmygoodness. SO good!! Has a very friendly "good morning" type vibe. Staff was nice, food was excellent. If you're in crested butte for the weekend this place is an absolute must.

Best Bagel in America!! (I travel for a living, and this no shit, the best) Made fresh every morning by owner Craig. These are good people that provide a first class food experience.

Love it!

Totally bummed because I hear the food is amazing but the hour wait time to eat totally isn't worth it.

Not much space to sit and eat because people kept pouring in o this local favorite. Our lattes were excellent and our Latkes with eggs were fantastic! Don't miss this local passion.

Great breakfast food and huge portions. Good with the half orders if you aren't sure. A great place for a brunch or late breakfast.

Had a croissant sandwich and my wife had a bowl of granola. Loved it! Definitely recommend it. Doesn't have much for a seating place and kind of tucked behind the post office but worth all the reviews!!

Izzy's is a quirky establishment. The latke is a must at breakfast. The food is cooked to order, so it takes a while for the food to come out.

I was with my boyfriend on vacation & we fell in love with this place!!! The owner is the friendliest man ever & his staff is equally as welcoming. The food was absolutely fabulous & ended up eating breakfast every day here. And will be the first place we stop in when we visit again.

  • Drew D.

ENJOY!!!

By far and away, the best breakfast and lunch place in Crested Butte CO. Craig Miestro is the man in charge of all the food, and the home like atmosphere that has become a Crested Butte institution. The breakfast latkes are second to none, the sandwiches are huge and fabulous, the ingredients are always fresh, and the staff is charming! Don't miss this place when in Crested Butte!

Our favorite stop in Crested Butte for breakfast. Stopped in twice this past July for latke's and then our last morning for plate sized blueberry pancakes (hubby could not finish it!). Great atmosphere and food as always. Definitely stop in for the food.

Izzys is one of those places that doesn't need a review, so I guess that's why there hasn't been one yet. Latkes, stellar. Get there early on wkends. Walk through the back & eat along the creek.

The food is great, but be prepared to wait. They are going at their own speed here, so if you are in a hurry, you might want to try somewhere else. What others said about locals coming in is true, but that didn't bother us. Also, portions are fairly large, so I would recommend sharing.

I happened by on a road-trip several years ago and still have not forgotten this amazing place. On several occasions I have attempted to recreate the latke breakfast wrap, can't remember exactly, but some heavenly combination of potato latkes, eggs, chives, and cream cheese. It was to die for and we ate breakfast by the river in the sun.

We visited Izzys on a Sunday morning when they happened to be totally slammed but still maintained amazing customer service, amazing food, stellar coffee and total friendliness. We sat outside eating latkes by the river and it felt like we stumbled on treasure in being there. A gem of a restaurant!
